Slaves- The Hunter
Obviously I am making a music magazine so music has to be a big influence. I think my magazine will have a lot of influences due to it being a mix of multiple genres and the magazine reflects my likes as well. For example the bright colours and positivity Tyler the Creator reflects through his music videos would work well with my theme to help my photos pop apart from everything looking plain and urban. The influence of Yung Lean's music videos is that his videos are very interesting and in 2013 at the time he made them no one had ever seen 'vapour wave' before and it is widely what shaped the fashion and music that is very popular still today. As for slaves and their style of music and the videos they make it is modern punk, I like how they use block colours to make things stand out from a page.
Fashion Influence on my Stylisation/ Them
Basement Approved Supreme Summer 17
With my photography I wanted to take them like fashion photos, especially the sort of photos you see on Basement Approved's website, Supreme/ Palace look books and the Instagrams of many young people of today. This is because I love how urbanisation has because fashionable and influenced everything. It is all around us. This also appeals to my target audience because from knowing people and myself that is included in my target audience they listen to the genres I want to put in my magazine and have an interest in streetwear.
Medieval Writing
Medieval writing is very popular now, again something which has come from Yung Lean and Sad Boys with the way they dress but it's only now that mainstream pop culture has become aware of it. I like how it looks and it goes with my theme really well because it makes my magazine different to anything that I have seen before.
Art Influence
The album cover art for Yamborghini High by ASAP Mob was influential to me in terms of art because it was computer generated which I have tried before and find fun to do and make the outcome look effective. It includes the medieval writing which is a font I had always planned to use when creating my work as it has become very popular lately and has an edgy flair to it.
